Girls’ iron requirements increase dramatically during adolescent making them more susceptible to anaemia, which has a lasting negative impact not only for their development and health, but also for the survival and growth of their children later in life. India has one of the highest prevalence, with an estimated 60% of adolescent girls considered anaemic.

We work with L&T to provide much needed haemoglobin testing camps for adolescent girls in slum areas and least privileged areas we :

  • Conduct test to identify Girls who are anemic
  • Create awareness among the girls and the community to household prevention methods
  • Provide them with three months medication to help improve their condition
  • Conduct follow up test for the girls
  • And help them with long term advise and Anemia management

LIFE Trust along with L&T have conducted over 2000 tests this year.
