A brief History of LIFE Trust

  • 2000: LIFE Trust gets registered as a trust
  • 2001: Life Trust starts "Our Home"  in Chennai, adopting 45 children and helping them grow to achieve their dreams
  • 2005: As a pioneer adopted 10 MCGM schools to provide them with Educators (Life Coaches)
  • 2006: Taking education beyond the syllabus LIFE Trust started an Outreach program in 135 MCGM schools
  • 2008: As a first we launched a Digital Classroom in MCGM schools
  • 2008: To help student improve their ability to converse in English, we stated Conversational English classes in our MCGM schools
  • 2008: "Maths Made Easy" a unique and innovative project to increase student liking for maths and improve their Maths skills was launched
  • 2008: "Education on wheels" a new idea of taking education to where it was needed was started by LIFE Trust
  • 2008: Another first from LIFE Trust we set up computer labs and MCGM schools and provided them with Life Coaches for the same
  • 2008: Signed with ICDS to work in theirs Anganwadis , Thus the CCC program was launched with 489 Anganwadis
  • 2008: Launched a Teacher training program to support the TCDS in training their Sevikas & Maditinis
  • 2008: Started skilling and vocational training for the adolescent girls in the slums we work in
  • 2008: Home Visit /Parents Meeting started to encourage parents to send their children to school
  • 2008: School Ready program started to gear up the children to go to school.
  • 2008: School Challo Rally , and Annual drive to motivate children to go back to school started
  • 2009: Started Digital Classrooms in all 10 adopted schools
  • 2009: Differential aptitude tests started to help guide children in their career paths
  • 2009: Monthly activity Planning ( MAP) started in schools to extend our learning beyond the syllabus
  • 2009: Yoga started in schools to improve mental and physical health of the students
  • 2009: Introduced Learn for LIFE Project for AW Sevikas
  • 2009: Joy In A Box our annual event providing educational tools to Anganwadis launched
  • 2010: Introduced Roshni Prog
  • 2010: Learn For LIFE - Ashadaan
  • 2010: Support to mentally challenged students - MR Schools
  • 2010: Extended our CCC program to cover 1000 Anganwadis ( 20% of total anganwadis in Mumbai)
