Is it an organization, a community service center or a group? The answer is all of this and much more. We are a dynamic foundation that works in collaboration with the Government to introduce various programs at the school and pre-school level in order to improve the quality and accountability of the education system for the underprivileged children. We believe that every child should have the right to explore his talents and chase his dreams, and he can only do so if he is provided a platform for growth.
Five years ago, the dynamic duo of Mr. Micky Jagtiani and Mrs. Poonam Lalvani had a vision- To improve the lives of millions and make ‘School Chalo’, the mantra of every child in India. Life Trust is an organization powered by that vision.
At LIFE Trust our goal is focused on the following three objectives:
LIFE Trust Goals

Established in the year 2000, Life Trust has always strived to achieve its aforementioned goals through hard work and determination. Many of these dreams have been fulfilled by the way of creative and effective programmes. Since our inception, we have been able to affect the lives of over 50,000 children annually in Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore. The following are our main projects.
Our Programs

LIFE Trust has partnered the Bombay Municipal Corporation and ICDS through a 3 year MOU. Life Trust has also partnered with the psychiatry department at Nair Hospital to establish the LIFE Center for Learning Disabilities in 2007.

School Development Project:
Multiple projects such as Career Counseling, Effective Study Habits, Learn for Life (conversational English) etc are undertaken for the 49 BMC secondary schools. LIFE Trust is the education partner of the 10 Secondary BMC schools where digital classrooms have been set up.
LIFE Center for Learning Disability:
We conduct testing, diagnosis, remediation, counseling and certification, free of cost, for the children of Mumbai, with the aim of detecting slow learners and preventing drop outs.
Integrated Child Development scheme:
LIFE Trust monitors 774 Anganwadi’s or pre-school centers in Bandra, Dharavi, Shivri and Wadala slums catering to 20,000 + children and 950 teachers.
Women’s Empowerment:
We provide empowerment to women through awareness, economic independence, and social leadership. We support the formation of Self Help Groups in Urban Slums, provide training in entrepreneur skills and award women achievers , to encourage more women to empowered.

Our Home:
The “Our Home” orphanage is a home for 25 destitute children at T- nagar, Chennai. The children at “Our Home” are admitted from the age of 4 years and are sent to the private school – Sri Ramakrishna Mission Sarada Vidyalaya, an English medium school.

Vocational Training:
The LIFE Trust Bangalore chapter works with the local government to provide non-formal education programs with the aim of developing the vocational skills of women and young adults.
