Why we do it:
This project started in April 2009 with the aim of teaching conversational English to Anganwadi teachers. Through 2009 LIFE expanded this project to include students and teachers of 10 MCGM Secondary Schools. The aim is to empower them with conversational English language as a tool for social development.
What do we do:
LIFE Trust has provided 36 TV-DVD`s and a set of 5 CD`s, containing 950 basic words to the schools. The class is interactive with discussions, role-plays and quizzes to deliver quality learning in a fun and interesting manner. We also conduct teacher’s orientation and training programmes and interactive demo sessions so that the teachers are well equipped to train the students effectively.
How do we impact:
We are currently reaching out to 7500 students in 10 MCGM schools. Training has been conducted for 102 teachers in MCGM schools and this is an ongoing effort. Over 100 Anganwadi teachers have been impacted through this programme.
